Marion Derrett - Pastel and Portrait Artist

This pastel painting, "First Steps", was inspired by a

photograph taken over 30 years ago.

I love to paint children as they make the most

adorable subjects, especially one such as this,

where I was able to capture the movement and

expression of delight in the child's face as he took his

first steps.

I paint portraits of people of all ages, as well as

pets and landscapes.
